Children who are enrolled in our Toddler program are turning two years of age by the December of the year they are enrolled.
The regular hours for our Toddler program are from 9:30am to 11:30am on Tuesday and Thursdays.
We ask that parents/caregivers make plans to be available for early pick-up of their child for up to the first three weeks of school. Should the teachers feel that the children are ready to be left at school for the full two hours ahead of the outlined time schedule listed below, parents will be notified of this soon after school begins.
The initial time schedule for the children is as follows:
First week: 9:30am to 10:30am
Second week: 9:30am to 11:00am
Third week and on: 9:30am to 11:30am
By the end of the third week, our goal is to have all of the children attend independently once they are more comfortable with the routine and have formed a special bond with their teachers.
Due to the young age of our Toddler group, the children will remain in our ‘Big Room’ and the specialty teachers will come to them as opposed to being in the gym where specialties take place for our older children. The reason for this adjustment is that transitions can be very overwhelming for children of this age and we want to offer a secure, consistent routine where they can meet with success. Specialties are as follows; French both days, Music on Tuesdays and Drama on Thursdays.
All of the activities provided by our teachers are age appropriate and take into consideration the children’s attention span and need for variation in mediums.
Fun, social and interactive days during this toddler program year will prepare the children for our regular Nursery program the following school year. We have a maximum of 10 children with 2 teachers, giving us an ideally low ratio of 5:1.
