Children’s Garden Nursery School offers a variety of specialty programs that are included in the tuition price. Here are answers to a few frequently asked questions, as well as some more information on the benefits of these programs and how they are integrated into the school day.
What are the benefits of having specialty programs during the school day, instead of after school?
Due to these programs being part of a child’s regular school day, there is a level of comfort with them taking place in a familiar space and having consistency in sharing these programs with the same group of friends.
This also saves parents time and money, as their children are able to have these experiences during school hours, and therefore, may not need to sign up for as many activities after school or on the weekends.
How is the program integrated into the CGNS school schedule?
Our specialty program schedule allows each class to rotate through the specialties, ensuring that each group gets the ‘specialty of the day.’
What kind of experience level/expertise do the instructors have?
Each specialty teacher has additional certifications or qualifications in their area of expertise.
How is my child’s progress in each program measured/recorded?
There is an end-of-year report card that includes all specialty program assessments. However, the teachers are available to answer any parents’ questions about their child’s participation throughout the year.
What if my child doesn’t like a particular specialty program – is there an alternate option?
We have yet to have a child who does not want to participate in our specialty programs! If we are doing our job correctly, each program is developed to ensure that all children have an active level of participation. If they are not as enthusiastic as other children, we have strategies in place to help that child feel comfortable and join at their own pace.

“What really stands out to me is that very shy children, over the years, blossom into the most confident of entertainers thanks to the exposure of all our specialty programs. This is always a proud moment to know that we made a difference in a child’s confidence level. Our goal is never to change who a child is but to help them become the most confident version of themselves.”
