A picture is worth a thousand words

Or in this case a video! We hope that you find our website very informative, however, a peek inside our school especially during concert time, may give you a better idea of the ‘feel’ and atmosphere many of our families witness first hand when they come to visit.

Aims of the School

The primary purpose of Children’s Garden Nursery School is to provide the community with a program that responds to not only the intellectual and physical needs, but also to the emotional and social needs of the developing child.  Like flowers in a well-tended garden, our children will be given a special place, within a natural environment, where they will be allowed to grow and blossom at their own individual pace, and where they will be respected for their own unique contribution to the group.

Philosophy

School should be a place where a child can experience love and respect as well as intellectual stimulation.  Thus, when we consider the education of a child we should view the process as both social and intellectual – after all, what a child feels influences his or her desire to learn. Although we offer a sound curriculum at Children’s Garden, our primary concern is the child’s emotional and social development.  Our focus will be to support the children as they build a solid foundation on which to grow.  We will foster independence and self-confidence, cooperation, respect, and over-all social awareness of the world around them.  Our children will be regarded as individuals within a community and will be encouraged to work together for mutual success.

Our school functions in the spirit of a family – a home away from home where the children feel happy and comfortable.  Since the home experience and the school experience should not be isolated from one another, open communication and cooperative exchange between home and school is essential.  “The parents and teachers each hold jigsaw pieces which when coming together generate a more complete picture”.  Thus, together we can help each child develop to his or her full potential.
